Solution Architect Principal- CDN

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days per week in an office and 2 days from home. Offices are available in Bristol, Birmingham, London, and Manchester, United Kingdom.

What you will do

• Define the strategic roadmap and architecture for CDN, content delivery, and edge computing services across hirify.global.
• Lead the architecture and delivery of scalable CDN and edge compute solutions for broadband and mobile services.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, market trends, and AI-at-the-edge workloads to shape future products and revenue streams.
• Develop business cases and technical propositions, assessing build, buy, and partner options while supporting RFPs, bids, negotiations, and go-to-market activities.
• Establish architectural standards and modern operating models using cloud-native technologies, automation, and agile delivery.
• Mentor architects, engineers, and designers while influencing senior and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of CDN technologies, content distribution architectures, and edge computing platforms.
• Significant experience in media, broadcast, telecommunications, content delivery, hyperscale, or service provider environments.
• Proven experience defining technology strategy, product direction, and multi-year roadmaps for large-scale customer-facing services.
• Strong solution architecture experience across software, networking, cloud, and distributed infrastructure.
• Broad knowledge of IP networking, cloud platforms, software engineering, broadband, mobile, and content distribution technologies.
• Experience with commercial business cases, supplier engagement, RFPs, strategic partnerships, stakeholder influence, and agile product development.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI and machine learning workloads deployed at the network edge.
• Knowledge of television distribution, multicast, gaming delivery, and cloud-native platforms.
• Experience combining solution architecture, product strategy, and technical product ownership.
• Product management or Product Owner certification.
• Experience leading technical communities and influencing organisational technology strategy.
