OT Solutions Architect (Industrial Automation)

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture across multiple Operational Technology programmes and projects.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into secure, scalable, resilient, and supportable technical solutions.
• Design OT architectures spanning infrastructure, networking, hybrid hosting, security, and IT/OT integration.
• Produce solution designs, architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Lead technical design reviews, evaluate technologies and supplier solutions, and support procurement activities.
• Provide architectural guidance during implementation and contribute to governance, technical standards, and reusable solution patterns.

Requirements

• Significant experience delivering solution architecture in OT, ICS, or industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of SCADA, control systems, industrial networking, and remote operational environments.
• Experience designing secure, resilient, and scalable solutions across multiple technology domains.
• Knowledge of networking, infrastructure, virtualisation, real-time systems, IT/OT convergence, and hybrid architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS and with architecture documentation and technical design artefacts.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills and experience working in both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in energy, utilities, renewables, oil and gas, or other critical infrastructure sectors.
• Knowledge of identity and access management, remote access, SIEM, software-defined networking, or data integration platforms.
• Awareness of IEC 62443, NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework, NIS/NIS2, or related standards.
• Experience with Bizzdesign or similar architecture modelling tools, TOGAF, or equivalent methodologies.
• Consultancy experience in multi-client delivery environments.
