Mechanical Engineering Manager (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, recruit, and scale a high-performing mechanical engineering team.
• Provide technical authority across multiple aerospace and space programs, including architecture development, trade studies, and major design decisions.
• Guide mechanical hardware through concept, design, analysis, manufacturing, integration, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support.
• Oversee system requirements, validation, interface management, design reviews, and technical documentation.
• Establish and improve engineering standards, analysis methods, and verification and validation frameworks.
• Coordinate resources and execution with systems engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, program management, customers, suppliers, and partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 7–9 years of mechanical design and analysis experience in aerospace or space systems, including 1–3 years of engineering management experience.
• Expertise in mechanical design, electronics packaging at PCBA and system levels, and structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis.
• Knowledge of environmental testing, qualification standards, aerospace materials, CNC machining, composites, additive manufacturing, system integration, AI&T, and launch constraints.
• Proficiency with CAD and PDM tools such as SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM, plus simulation tools such as ANSYS Mechanical or equivalent FEA software.
• Eligibility to work under United States Government Space Technology Export Regulations is required.
