What you will do

• Lead the mechanical design of custom automated manufacturing equipment using 3D CAD.
• Design robotic end-of-arm tooling, material handling systems, fixtures, weldments, machine frames, safety guarding, and production cell layouts.
• Apply mechanics, kinematics, materials science, and other engineering fundamentals to evaluate designs and solve novel mechanical challenges.
• Integrate mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, robotic, and control-system components into unified production equipment.
• Lead equipment commissioning, startup, debugging, and production ramp-up while resolving mechanical issues.
• Create BOMs, drawings, spare-parts lists, assembly procedures, and provide technical input to schedules and budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of experience designing, assembling, and commissioning custom automated tooling or manufacturing equipment from scratch.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD, such as CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent, plus the ability to create and review mechanical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Working knowledge of control systems, robotics, automated industrial equipment, machines, and processes.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.

Nice to have

• Advanced CREO parametric modeling, including top-down design and family tables.
• Experience with ANSYS or similar structural, FEA, or multiphysics simulation software.
• Familiarity with PLC, robot, CNC programming, and electrical drawings.
• Experience delivering custom automated equipment from concept through production ramp-up and applying Design for Automated Manufacturing principles.
