Facilities Engineering Intern (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite at Plant 10 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, United States. Local travel only. Relocation is available, but no relocation country is specified.

Pay range: $18.00–$27.50 per hour.

What you will do

• Support HVAC improvement projects, equipment assessments, system upgrades, performance monitoring, and energy-efficiency initiatives.
• Assist with electrical infrastructure projects involving power distribution, lighting, backup power, and facility modernization.
• Analyze utility consumption, energy performance, and sustainability metrics.
• Plan, track, and document facility capital improvement projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain facility drawings, equipment records, project documentation, and engineering data while supporting audits and compliance initiatives.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, facilities engineering, facilities management, construction management, energy management, or a related field.
• At least second-semester sophomore standing with 48 completed credits.
• Available to work 40 or more hours per week from May through December 2027.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Must currently be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, floor plans, and equipment documentation.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or building automation systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD, CMMS platforms, or project management software.
• Knowledge of energy-efficiency, sustainability, or utility-analysis programs.
• Previous internship, co-op, or project experience in engineering, facilities, manufacturing, or construction.
