Environmental Health & Safety Intern (Manufacturing)

Location: Mentor, Ohio, USA; Northeast Ohio-based with travel to sites across North America

Salary: $25.50–$29 per hour, based on academic standing

What you will do

• Complete a waste process flow matrix for each MG-NA site, documenting waste generation, disposal methods, and receiving vendors.
• Conduct line-by-line permit reviews and site audits to identify compliance gaps.
• Review site compliance calendars for completeness and effectiveness.
• Monitor environmental and sustainability data for anomalies and negative trends.
• Collaborate with plant leadership teams on manufacturing process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Science or Engineering, with a focus on Environmental Studies, Sustainability, or manufacturing.
• Comfortable with relocation now and in the future.
• Available to travel 10–20% of the time, including week-long assignments at sites across North America.
• Reliable transportation to and from work is required.
• Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Previous internship, co-op, or relevant work experience in manufacturing.
• Participation in relevant student organizations or volunteer activities.
