Pipeline Technician (Line Patroller)

Location: Onsite in Thomasville, Georgia, with extensive local travel in an assigned geographic area. Some overnight travel and after-hours emergency callouts may be required.

What you will do

• Implement damage prevention activities, including pipeline patrols, utility locating, construction inspection, and excavation inspection.
• Locate and mark pipeline facilities before and during excavation and oversee work near pipeline assets.
• Conduct population density surveys, leak detection surveys, safety inspections, and project inspections.
• Document daily activities, maintain records, prepare as-built drawings, and report progress to Operations and Project Managers.
• Represent the company with landowners, tenants, public officials, emergency officials, contractors, and local organizations.
• Identify and correct safety and environmental concerns while supporting PHMSA, state agency, EPA, and other compliance activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and a long-term safe driving record.
• Ability to write complete, concise technical records and perform data entry.
• Knowledge of safe handling practices for flammable gases, high- and low-pressure systems, valve operating systems, and pipeline diagrams.
• Computer proficiency, including MS Office and company software, plus the ability to use electronic field devices.
• Ability to work independently and with a team, travel through challenging terrain, work outdoors in extreme weather, lift required equipment, and respond to callouts.
• Ability to speak and understand English is required.

Nice to have

• Pipeline maintenance, transmission pipeline, or excavation experience.
• Utility locating, underground utilities, USIC or similar locating experience.
• Knowledge of Georgia and Florida One Call laws, safe excavation practices, surveying, construction management, or utility construction.
• Ability to drive an off-road light-duty truck and UTV.
