Focus on conducting plant start-ups and shutdowns, analyzing interlocks and alarms, completing complex LOTO and safe-work permits, and resolving abnormal operating conditions through root cause analysis.
Location: Cottage Grove, Minnesota, United States; on-site at the ASU facility
Salary: $38–$42 per hour plus a 5% annual bonus

What you will do
- Lead safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations while supporting the Plant or Facility Manager.
- Perform process troubleshooting, routine maintenance, plant start-ups and shutdowns, and cryogenic transport loading and unloading.
- Maintain operating procedures, P&IDs, process flow diagrams, work orders, and other technical documentation.
- Conduct acceptance tests and pre-startup safety reviews, coordinate maintenance activities, and manage contractor and visitor site access.
- Monitor facility KPIs, update downtime records in SAP or LIRE, and participate in safety meetings, inspections, audits, and root cause analyses.
- Provide direction, training, scheduling support, and shift coverage for Level 1–4 technicians, including rotational nights-and-weekends on-call coverage.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of related operations experience and experience in quality assurance within a processing environment.
- Technical training or equivalent experience required; an associate degree is desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety programs, process safety management, environmental compliance, HSE requirements, and applicable FDA, OSHA, EPA, and DHS regulations.
- Ability to operate ASU, NLU, LCO2, and HPN cold plants; perform VSA start-up when applicable; and understand interlocks, shutdowns, alarms, and plant process schematics.
- Experience with analyzer calibration, minor maintenance, preventive maintenance, CMMS, SAP or LIRE, root cause analysis, complex safe-work permitting, and LOTO.
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts, participate in on-call coverage, travel as needed, wear required PPE, and lift up to 60 pounds.
