Location: Mount Pleasant, Texas, United States. Full-time schedule, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., supporting the Mt. Pleasant medical oncology location.

Texas Oncology is a large community oncology provider delivering evidence-based cancer care through clinics across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma.

What you will do

  • Provide direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care in collaboration with practice physicians.
  • Assess patients and families, plan and evaluate care, initiate interventions, prescribe indicated therapies, and document responses.
  • Perform procedures after appropriate training and provide patient and family education.
  • Apply evidence-based research to clinical practice and support quality patient outcomes throughout the care continuum.
  • Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation, while developing knowledge of reimbursement requirements.
  • Provide case management, staff education, hospital rounding, and weekend or after-hours call coverage when assigned.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: MSN and completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, current RN and Nurse Practitioner licensure, and 0–3 years of post-MSN experience.
  • Physician Assistant: completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program, current NCCPA certification and state licensure, and 0–3 years of professional experience.
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist: MSN and completion of an accredited Clinical Nurse Specialist program, current RN and Clinical Nurse Specialist licensure, and 0–3 years of post-MSN experience.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification is required.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including extensive standing and walking, patient handling and lifting, and occasional lifting of items up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work in an oncology/hematology clinic environment with exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations.
