Special Education Teacher (SY26-27)

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States; onsite

Salary: $44,880+ annual starting salary; higher tiers depend on experience.

What you will do

• Lead instruction for middle school students in special education settings.
• Co-teach with general education teachers in inclusion or resource classrooms and lead small-group instruction.
• Create and teach challenging, engaging lessons aligned with state standards.
• Support student IEPs, manage a student caseload, and address individual learning needs.
• Use student data and feedback to improve instructional practices and achievement.
• Communicate with parents, participate in campus duties and staff meetings, and contribute to curriculum development.

Requirements

• B.A./B.S. degree in teaching or a related field.
• Minnesota state teaching certification for the appropriate subject area; licenses in process or out-of-field permission requests may be considered.
• Strong oral and written communication, organization, punctuality, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using technology in teaching and learning and positive, constructive disciplinary approaches.
• Familiarity with current teaching and learning theories.
• IEP-writing experience is not required; training is provided.

Nice to have

• At least three years of classroom teaching experience.
• Experience working in historically underserved communities and communities of color.
