TL;DR
26-27 School Psychologist (Student Support): Providing psychological services, special education evaluations, behavioral interventions, and crisis response across school settings with an accent on MTSS, psychoeducational assessment, and educational equity. Focus on conducting compliant evaluations, developing behavior intervention plans, analyzing student data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families.

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana, USA; 100% on-site. Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work. Travel to other school facilities may be required.

What you will do

  • Provide psychological services across prevention, intervention, assessment, consultation, and crisis response.
  • Support MTSS/RTI teams by analyzing academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional data and recommending evidence-based interventions.
  • Coordinate special education evaluations, administer and interpret psychological assessments, conduct observations, and prepare compliant evaluation reports.
  • Present evaluation findings during eligibility and IEP meetings and collaborate on appropriate educational programming.
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments, develop Behavior Intervention Plans and crisis intervention plans, and monitor intervention effectiveness.
  • Partner with educators, school leaders, families, counselors, social workers, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to improve student outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master’s, Educational Specialist, or doctoral degree in School Psychology.
  • Louisiana certification or eligibility for certification as a School Psychologist.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Louisiana Bulletin 1508, special education evaluation procedures, and MTSS.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to educational equity and historically underserved communities.
  • Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
  • Ability to meet classroom and office physical demands, including safely lifting and moving up to 30 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Louisiana psychologist licensure or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience conducting school-based psychoeducational evaluations.
  • Experience with Functional Behavioral Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans, and multidisciplinary educational consultation.
  • Bilingual skills.
