Director, Data Driven Leadership Middle Schools

Location: Austin, TX, USA. Hybrid work with attendance at the central office or schools three days a week, plus regular travel between campuses, regional offices, and external locations.

What you will do

• Lead a culture of data use for continuous improvement and decision-making across middle schools.
• Coach regional and school leaders on analyzing data, identifying performance gaps, diagnosing root causes, and improving student outcomes.
• Develop annual goals, milestones, success metrics, and strategies aligned with state accountability systems and academic priorities.
• Conduct ongoing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and create custom visualizations, reports, and data stories.
• Build progress-monitoring systems and routines for reviewing leading indicators, outputs, and outcome metrics.
• Provide recurring insights and recommendations to academic leaders and support early resolution of execution barriers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience required; master’s degree preferred.
• Exceptional data analysis skills, including trend interpretation, root-cause analysis, and translating findings into action.
• Strong understanding of foundational statistics and data-driven decision-making.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
• Experience influencing, coaching, and leading through relationships rather than direct authority, along with strong project management skills.
• Reliable transportation is required for travel between campuses, and regular in-person attendance and travel are part of the role.
