HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic – Journeyman

Location: Montgomery, AL, United States; full-time onsite work on commercial construction jobsites.

What you will do

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair HVAC sheet metal ductwork and components, including ducts, drain pans, control boxes, and equipment casings.
• Read blueprints, specifications, contract documents, and shop drawings and perform accurate field measurements and layout.
• Install, seal, insulate, and support duct systems in accordance with SMACNA standards, mechanical codes, and company guidelines.
• Coordinate with foremen, project managers, pipefitters, electricians, and other trades to support project schedules.
• Inspect completed work for quality and compliance, maintain tools and equipment, and keep the jobsite clean.
• Follow company safety policies and OSHA requirements and participate in jobsite safety meetings.

Requirements

• Journeyman-level commercial HVAC sheet metal installation experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow detailed installation instructions.
• Familiarity with ATU, RTU, split systems, and commercial duct applications.
• Reliable transportation and availability for full-time work with overtime as required.
• Ability to lift, climb, work at heights, and perform physical jobsite tasks in commercial environments.
• Dependable, professional, safety-focused, and able to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Completion of a sheet metal apprenticeship program.
• Journeyman HVAC or sheet metal certification.
• OSHA 10-Hour certification; OSHA 30-Hour is an additional advantage.
