Senior Sheet Metal Worker (HVAC and Ductwork): Fabricating and installing HVAC ductwork, hangers, strainers, and custom metal components with an accent on interpreting construction blueprints and working with diverse metals and plastics. Focus on operating sheet metal fabrication equipment, cutting and joining materials, completing installation modifications, and maintaining task safety requirements.
Location: Onsite in North Chicago, Illinois, United States
Salary: $23.80–$43.00 USD per hour

What you will do
- Perform demolition and construction work on ductwork and install HVAC equipment.
- Fabricate ductwork, hangers, custom strainers, and specialty components from drawings, sketches, and samples.
- Work with steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, magnesium, copper, and other specialty metals, as well as Plexiglass and Lexan.
- Operate shears, press brakes, hand brakes, lock formers, saws, plasma cutters, and spot welders.
- Complete installations and modifications while following corporate, divisional, and task-specific safety requirements.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent and completion of an approved apprentice program or equivalent.
- 5–7 years of diverse commercial and industrial sheet metal experience.
- Ability to interpret mechanical diagrams and construction blueprints.
- Ability to understand and complete installations and modifications.
