Vice President, Global Network Engineering

Location: Chicago, Illinois; hybrid work with at least two days per week in person at an assigned hirify.global office

U.S. base salary: $193,500–$406,500 per year, with potential eligibility for annual bonuses and other incentives.

What you will do

• Define and execute global network strategy, architecture, engineering, and roadmaps across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, cloud, data center, internet edge, partner, and corporate environments.
• Lead modernization of network services across Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, hybrid infrastructure, and on-premises environments.
• Establish service ownership models with defined performance measures, support models, and continuous improvement plans.
• Partner with cloud, platform, architecture, DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver automation, standard designs, and self-service network capabilities.
• Improve reliability through incident and problem management, change governance, root cause analysis, observability, telemetry, and corrective actions.
• Build and lead a global engineering organization while managing capacity planning, technology lifecycles, vendors, investments, and cost optimization.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive experience leading large-scale enterprise network engineering, architecture, or infrastructure organizations in complex global environments.
• Deep expertise in global network services across data centers, cloud platforms, internet connectivity, and corporate networks.
• Experience developing and executing modernization strategies in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Experience leading large engineering organizations and developing high-performing teams across multiple geographies.
• Expertise in LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, routing, switching, DNS, load balancing, network segmentation, cloud networking, observability, and monitoring.
• Knowledge of network security, zero trust, access controls, compliance, policy-driven governance, network automation, infrastructure-as-code, and policy-as-code.

Nice to have

• Experience with service-based operating frameworks, AIOps, intelligent automation, predictive monitoring, and advanced operational analytics.
• Experience leading network transformation related to cloud migration, digital modernization, and infrastructure simplification.
• Background in vendor strategy, contract negotiations, financial governance, investment planning, and executive operational dashboards.
