Director, Network Engineering

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; hybrid arrangement with 3–4 days per week onsite at 70 W Madison St

Salary: $165,000–$240,000 per year, based on experience, qualifications, and location. Incentive compensation and a discretionary bonus may also apply.

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable, secure, and resilient network architectures.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the network engineering team while fostering collaboration and continuous learning.
• Ensure network infrastructure complies with PCI DSS, GLBA, FFIEC, and other banking security standards.
• Manage vendors, service providers, contractors, contracts, proposals, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Develop incident response procedures, mitigate network risks, and optimize performance, capacity, reliability, and cost.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, information security, application development, business, and senior leadership teams; maintain documentation and reporting.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of network engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience integrating multiple corporate networks and using network monitoring and management tools, including Cisco and Palo Alto Networks.
• Deep knowledge of LAN, WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, MPLS, cloud-supporting network infrastructure, networking protocols, and architectures.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and network security practices in banking environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States at the specified location. Visa sponsorship is not offered.
