Electronics Commodity Manager (Passive Components)

Location: US - FL - Remote; site-based, hybrid, or remote options may be considered, with periodic travel to suppliers and manufacturing sites. Travel is typically 10–25%.

Salary: $114,000–$153,000 per year, plus a competitive benefits package.

What you will do

• Develop and execute multi-year category strategies, preferred-supplier models, dual-sourcing plans, and standardization opportunities for passive electronic components.
• Lead RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes, supplier selection, contract negotiations, long-term agreements, and pricing reviews.
• Manage supplier scorecards, performance reviews, corrective actions, quality improvements, and business continuity planning.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Planning, Finance, NPI, and Compliance on approved alternates, AVL/AML governance, qualification, and design-to-availability.
• Manage component obsolescence, PCNs, substitutions, last-time buys, alternate qualifications, forecasts, allocations, and inventory risk.
• Drive cost reduction, total-cost-of-ownership improvements, value engineering, specification rationalization, supplier consolidation, and logistics optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of procurement or commodity management experience in electronics manufacturing, including strongly preferred experience with passive components.
• Expertise in RFQ execution, commercial negotiations, supplier management, and contract development.
• Experience managing shortages and allocation environments while maintaining supply continuity.
• Strong analytical skills in cost modeling, market analysis, and KPI-driven management.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle, sourcing tools, and advanced Excel.

Nice to have

• Experience with global passive-component manufacturers, authorized distributors, and direct or franchise channels.
• Familiarity with FAI, PPAP-like processes, PCN handling, electronics reliability, derating, and passive-component parameters.
• Six Sigma or Lean experience, project management certification, and commodity risk or supplier-segmentation experience.
