Assistant Principal of STEM - Middle School (26-27) (STEM education): Supporting academic and social-emotional outcomes while leading instruction, school culture, and the development of emerging school leaders with an accent on lesson planning, student data analysis, and culturally responsive classroom management. Focus on building instructional leadership capacity, applying restorative practices and social-emotional learning, and strengthening partnerships with staff, students, families, and stakeholders.

Location: Redwood City, California, USA; full-time work at school sites

Salary: $65,050 annual Bay Area Campus Substitute Salary

What you will do

  • Support academic and social-emotional outcomes as a member of the school leadership team.
  • Lead instruction and school culture while developing the skills of emerging school leaders.
  • Plan daily and long-term lessons aligned with KIPP’s academic vision and goals.
  • Analyze student data to identify academic trends and inform instructional practices.
  • Build warm, inclusive, rigorous, and engaging learning environments using restorative practices and social-emotional learning.
  • Communicate with staff, students, families, and other stakeholders to build strong partnerships.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience teaching students with demographics similar to the KIPP Northern California student community.
  • Previous leadership or teacher-leader experience is preferred, such as grade-level leadership, instructional coaching, or content leadership.
  • B.A. or B.S. degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Valid California teaching credential or an equivalent out-of-state credential or license.
  • Ability to maintain student records, including attendance, grades, and behavior data.
  • Ability to navigate school and classroom settings and use required technology.
