Complex Claims Director (Auto and General Liability)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; primarily in the office. Up to 25% travel is required for mediations, settlement conferences, trials, and other claim-related proceedings.

What you will do

• Investigate complex Auto Liability and General Liability claims, assessing coverage, liability, causation, damages, and exposure.
• Prepare coverage correspondence, establish reserves, and update claim strategies as new information becomes available.
• Manage a caseload from inception through resolution, including settlement negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution.
• Direct litigation strategy with defense and coverage counsel, including budgets, reporting, legal expenses, and litigation plans.
• Communicate claim updates, reserve recommendations, and strategic assessments to insureds, brokers, underwriters, claimants, counsel, and business leaders.
• Participate in claim reviews, roundtables, and strategy discussions while maintaining service quality and timely file activity.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Auto Liability and General Liability claims-handling experience.
• Extensive experience with Commercial Auto, Property Damage, and Bodily Injury claims.
• Proven experience managing litigation involving complex Auto and General Liability exposures.
• Strong coverage analysis, policy interpretation, litigation management, negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Property and Casualty and all required adjuster licenses must be obtained within six months of hire.
• New York and/or Texas Adjuster License experience is strongly preferred.
