Head of Claims (Risk Management)

Location: Falls Church, VA, United States

Salary: $115,000–$165,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise claims strategy across hirify.global and affiliated operating companies.
• Oversee property and casualty claims, including OCIP/CCIP programs, reserving, settlements, loss development, and recovery opportunities.
• Manage carriers, third-party administrators, brokers, defense counsel, and claims consultants.
• Direct litigation strategy for complex, catastrophic, and reputationally sensitive claims, including New York Labor Law matters.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Safety, HR, Benefits, Operations, and executive leadership on risk financing, prevention, return-to-work programs, and claim outcomes.
• Own claims reporting, KPIs, analytics, forecasts, technology strategy, and executive insights.

Requirements

• 12+ years of multi-line commercial claims experience, including at least 5 years in leadership.
• Experience with large-deductible, self-insured, captive, and OCIP/CCIP insurance programs.
• Multi-jurisdictional claims expertise, including New York Labor Law.
• Expertise in insurance coverage, reserving, litigation management, and total cost of risk.
• Strong executive communication, analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in data analysis and Microsoft Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted. Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience in construction, AEC, or commercial real estate.
• Professional designations such as CPCU, AIC, ARM, CRM, CRIS, or P&C License.
• Advanced degree such as JD, MBA, LLM, or MS-RMI.
