TL;DR
Software Validation Intern (QA): Designing and executing validation for mobile applications, embedded controllers, and Windows-based dealer service tools with an accent on documentation, regression testing, and integration testing. Focus on creating automated tests, developing test fixtures, exploring new test cases, and identifying software issues across simulators and on-vessel hardware.

Location: Onsite at Plant 33 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, United States. Relocation is available. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Pay: $18.00–$27.50 per hour, depending on academic standing, credits, qualifications, experience, business needs, and geographic location.

Mercury Marine, a hirify.global division, manufactures recreational marine propulsion engines, boats, services, parts, and marine electronics.

What you will do

  • Design test plans and test cases for mobile applications, embedded controllers, and Windows-based applications.
  • Perform regression, exploratory, and integration testing on phones, tablets, embedded hardware, simulators, and vessels.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests and assist with test fixture design and setup.
  • Test software functionality, document defects, and report results to the Software Engineering team.
  • Assist Software Engineers in investigating and resolving issues discovered during testing.

Requirements

  • Working toward a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • At least second-semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits.
  • Availability for full-time work of 40 or more hours per week from May through August 2027.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, curiosity, creativity, flexibility, and willingness to learn.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Python.
  • Working knowledge of C, C++, or C#.
  • Knowledge of the recreational boating industry and boating activities.
