QA Intern (QA Automation)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; on-site

Compensation: $20–$25 per hour for undergraduate students; $30–$35 per hour for graduate-level students

What you will do

• Design and implement automated testing solutions with Product Management, QA, and Engineering.
• Develop, maintain, and improve automated tests for web user interfaces and backend APIs.
• Create and maintain functional, integration, and regression test suites.
• Manage non-production test data, test accounts, test assets, and testing environments.
• Review results, document defects, and support troubleshooting and resolution.
• Validate features, bug fixes, and releases against requirements and acceptance criteria.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Coursework, academic projects, or practical experience with Python, JavaScript, C#, Java, or a similar programming language.
• Foundational understanding of the software development lifecycle and software testing concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment.
• Interest in test automation, APIs, web applications, quality engineering, and reliable software delivery.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Rest Assured, or similar testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with Postman or SoapUI, Git, REST APIs, databases, microservices, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience contributing to an academic, internship, or software development project.
• Interest in energy markets, sustainability, regulated technology platforms, or data-intensive applications.
