Metrology Development Engineer (AI)

Location: Livermore, California, United States; full-time onsite day shift

Salary: $90,500–$118,755 per year, depending on experience, skills, and background

What you will do

• Develop and deploy AI-based algorithms and automated workflows for defect detection and classification in MEMS probe manufacturing.
• Collaborate with process engineering, metrology, automation, and operations teams to identify improvements and align AI-driven solutions.
• Support process qualifications, engineering builds, and validation activities involving AI and automation.
• Drive improvements in wafer quality, defect reduction, automation, and First Pass Yield.
• Analyze defect trends, tool performance, and AI model accuracy to identify root causes and support corrective actions.
• Develop real-time feedback systems and provide documentation, training, and operational support for AI-enhanced defect review tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of related experience, an advanced degree without experience, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience or knowledge in data metrics and metrology engineering.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Livermore, California, on the regular day shift.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and operations personnel and guide production teams through new workflows and tools.
