Nuclear Safety Consulting Specialist (Nuclear Safety)

Location: Richland, Washington, United States; work is conducted predominantly on-site at the Hanford Field Office and Hanford Site, with limited remote support subject to approval.

What you will do

• Provide nuclear safety consulting and general support services for the DOE Hanford Field Office.
• Support compliance with 10 CFR 830 and DOE O 414.1D requirements.
• Perform QA audits, safety evaluations, safety data analysis, and document reviews.
• Maintain documented safety analyses and unreviewed safety question processes.
• Lead DOE USQ evaluations supporting configuration control.
• Support readiness assessments, safety program implementation, contractor collaboration, and production of safety deliverables.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of nuclear safety and quality assurance experience.
• Experience in DOE nuclear facilities is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
• Knowledge of safety basis, QA audits, and causal analysis.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment and technical clarity.
• Facility Clearance is required; DOE clearance may be required for classified work.

Nice to have

• Advanced professional certifications.
• Experience supporting Environmental Management sector clients.
• Expertise in electrical, facility representative, industrial hygiene, environmental and regulatory, criticality safety, engineering, radiological protection, structural, fire protection, or related support functions.
