Diesel Mechanic

Location: Fairmont, WV, USA; onsite

Compensation: $3,000 bonus

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks, refuse bodies, chassis, and related equipment.
• Service hydraulic, electrical, air brake, suspension, drivetrain, steering, HVAC, and engine systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, basic tire work, welding, and fabrication.
• Diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools and complete repair work on-site or on the road.
• Provide safe road service to return company equipment to operation efficiently.
• Complete company training programs and support drivers operating the fleet.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of technician experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive or technical school within the next three months.
• Experience with Class 1–5 light/medium-duty and Class 7–8 heavy-duty trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and perform basic inspections with limited supervision.
• Working knowledge of suspension, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions systems.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Nice to have

• ASE T1–T8 certifications.
• Commercial Driver’s License.
