Senior I&C Engineer (Water/Wastewater)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; office-based role

Salary: $108,000–$162,000 annually

What you will do

• Design instrumentation and control systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, and reservoir facilities.
• Program and integrate control modifications and upgrades, including SCADA points, SCADA programming, HMI systems, and full station process-control programming.
• Troubleshoot equipment and control issues and support clients with field testing.
• Witness factory and field tests of process-control systems.
• Prepare plans, specifications, cost opinions, condition assessments, and feasibility studies.
• Collect field data and conduct client training sessions as required.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of relevant experience in industrial engineering consulting, design and construction services, or controls integration.
• BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; a master’s degree in Controls Theory is an advantage.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Working knowledge of instrumentation for flow, temperature, pressure, position, level, gas monitoring, air quality, and analytical measurements.
• Experience developing detailed P&ID diagrams and designing PLC-, DCS-, network-, telemetry-, and communications-based control systems.
• Documented PLC programming experience with Rockwell, Siemens, Modicon, or General Electric processors and HMI programming experience with WonderWare, IFIX, RS View, or Intellution.
