421A Mechanic (Heavy Equipment)

Location: Onsite in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

Salary: From CAD 39 per hour, plus overtime after 44 hours

What you will do

• Maintain, repair, and diagnose heavy machinery and equipment used in metal recycling operations.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to support equipment performance and longevity.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and replace faulty components.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and prioritize repair work.
• Record maintenance activities and completed work accurately.
• Follow all safety protocols and quality standards during maintenance and repairs.

Requirements

• Valid 421A Heavy Equipment Technician License.
• Previous experience as a 421A Mechanic, preferably in an industrial setting.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Physical ability to lift equipment and work in various weather conditions, with a strong commitment to safety.
