Automotive Service Technician

Location: Richmond, British Columbia, Canada

Salary: CAD 24.00–30.00 per hour, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and other relevant factors.

What you will do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain customer and auction vehicles, including brakes, exhaust systems, front-end components, air conditioning, fluids, tires, and general mechanical systems.
• Perform pre-sale, post-sale, motor vehicle safety, frame, body, damage, transmission, differential, and powertrain inspections.
• Conduct test drives and pull vehicles into the shop to diagnose required repairs.
• Complete safety checklists, work orders, parts and labor entries, and related documentation.
• Maintain the shop and follow all required safety procedures.
• Assist with sourcing parts, preparing customer quotes, and referring transmission work externally when required.

Requirements

• Experience repairing and servicing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and components on a variety of vehicles.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.
• Ability to work at the Richmond, British Columbia location.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to use a smartphone.
• Reliability, attention to detail, safe working practices, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Third- or fourth-year registered apprentice status.
• License to complete Motor Vehicle Inspections.
• Teamwork, communication, problem-solving skills, and a positive professional attitude.
• Self-motivation and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
