Applications Engineer (Industrial Heating)

What you will do

• Develop relationships with OEMs and end users, identify opportunities, manage the sales pipeline, and negotiate quotations.
• Review thermal process, heating, airflow, controls, performance, and operating requirements with customers.
• Recommend heater selections, system integrations, and control strategies while supporting customer meetings, demonstrations, and technical discussions.
• Coordinate projects from quotation through production and delivery, monitoring milestones, schedules, and customer expectations.
• Perform calculations for heat transfer, airflow and pressure drop, temperature rise, power requirements, and electrical loading.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and customer support teams on custom product development and project handoffs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in engineering, applications engineering, product engineering, or technical sales.
• Understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, industrial electrical systems, and controls and automation concepts.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD software, plus strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel periodically to customer sites and industry events.

Nice to have

• Experience with electric heating technologies, thermal systems, HVAC, industrial process equipment, or industrial controls.
• Knowledge of UL, CE, CSA, or related compliance standards.
• Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, temperature controls, and industrial automation.
• Experience supporting OEM customers and working with custom-engineered industrial products.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD platforms.
