Lead Project Engineer (HVACR)

Location: Sidney, Ohio, United States; onsite at the Sidney location

What you will do

• Lead new product development for subsystems of mechanically modulated scroll compressors, including compression components, motors, bearings, pressure vessels, refrigerant and oil management, valving, and shutdown devices.
• Provide technical leadership and independent engineering expertise to global, multifunctional development teams.
• Plan and coordinate development and testing activities, applying risk-mitigation methods to drive project results.
• Develop and use engineering calculators, analytical tools, and design and analysis methods.
• Present technical data, project achievements, and updates to internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with sales, application engineering, marketing, quality, design, and manufacturing teams to resolve customer and product issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• At least seven years of relevant industry experience; strong project management and scheduling skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and stakeholders, lead multiple assignments, and drive team decisions.
• Working knowledge of advanced analytical techniques and their application.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Ten years of relevant experience or equivalent combined work and education experience.
• Master’s degree in Engineering and demonstrated product development experience.
• HVACR experience or experience developing high-speed rotating equipment.
• Expertise in applied physics, machine design, dynamics, thermodynamics, materials, fatigue and fracture mechanics, or bearing design.
• Experience with Lean methodologies and Lean product development.
