BSN Instructor - MedSurge or Mental Health!

Location: Campus position in Bakersfield, CA, USA. Part-time, per diem role working 12-hour daytime shifts on Saturdays.

Compensation: $55.00–$70.00 per hour. Typical hiring range is between $55.00 and $62.50 per hour.

What you will do

• Teach and supervise nursing students in classroom and clinical settings, with a focus on obstetrics.
• Develop, administer, and grade course materials and examinations in collaboration with faculty.
• Evaluate student performance and maintain attendance, grade, and clinical skills records.
• Support curriculum development, quality improvement, program assessment, faculty meetings, committees, and student advising.
• Orient and mentor new faculty members in theory and clinical instruction.
• Ensure clinical assignments meet student learning objectives and facility requirements, and submit required reports on time.

Requirements

• Valid, active license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
• Master of Nursing or a higher degree from an accredited college or university, including coursework in nursing, education, or administration.
• At least four years of direct patient-care experience as a registered nurse.
• At least one year of clinical experience within the last five years; clinical teaching may count toward direct patient care.
• Clinical competency as defined in CCR Section 1420(c).
• Expertise in psychiatric nursing, geriatrics, medical-surgical nursing, pediatrics, or OB-Gyn; MedSurge or Mental Health experience is required. Prior teaching experience is not required.
