What you will do

  • Teach pediatric nursing students in inpatient healthcare settings, focusing on family-centered care from infancy through adolescence.
  • Plan clinical experiences and directly supervise and evaluate students delivering nursing care.
  • Provide documented feedback, remediation, and guidance based on course objectives and individual learning needs.
  • Prepare clinical assignments, grade coursework and clinical documentation, and maintain current knowledge of agency policies and procedures.
  • Address student and agency concerns with course coordinators, administrators, staff, and other faculty members.
  • Support program assessment, student retention, regulatory compliance, and the professional development of the college community.

Requirements

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Unencumbered Alaska RN license required.
  • Illinois RN license required to teach all courses; assignments are prioritized for professors currently licensed in Illinois.
  • Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
  • At least two years of professional registered nursing experience within the last five years in the area of instruction.
