Adult Med-Surg Clinical Nursing Instructor

Location: Des Moines, Iowa, USA; in-person teaching at an inpatient clinical setting in the Des Moines area

Compensation: $1,120–$7,245 per assignment

What you will do

• Mentor BSN students during adult medical-surgical inpatient clinical experiences.
• Implement the nursing curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching.
• Plan clinical experiences, supervise students directly, and evaluate their nursing performance.
• Create clinical assignments and provide timely documented feedback, remediation, and assessment support.
• Coordinate with clinical site personnel on policies, procedures, expectations, and student or agency concerns.
• Contribute to program development, assessment, retention efforts, compliance, and college operations.

Requirements

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Unencumbered professional RN license in Iowa required.
• Illinois RN license required to teach all courses; assignments are prioritized for faculty currently licensed in Illinois.
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
• At least two years of professional RN experience within the last five years in the area of instruction.
• Teaching experience is not required; solid clinical experience is encouraged.
