Secondary Building Substitute

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite, 8:00–4:30 daily

Salary: $45,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide short-term classroom coverage for lead teachers across the school.
• Deliver engaging, differentiated whole-group and small-group instruction using provided curriculum resources.
• Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff while maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Track student progress and use data to inform instruction.
• Support arrival, dismissal, transitions, lunch, recess, tutoring, and student supervision.
• Complete attendance and student records, attend staff meetings and professional development, and support family events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Prior experience in an educational setting required.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to deliver rigorous, engaging instruction.
• Commitment to inclusion, cultural competence, anti-racism, and eliminating anti-Blackness.
• Complete Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Child Abuse, and Cogent Federal Fingerprinting clearances before starting.
