Senior Engineer, Water

Location: Washington, DC, United States; work from the DC Potomac Interceptor Project field office at DC Water three days per week

Salary: $117,600–$176,400 annually

What you will do

• Manage sewer engineering design and consulting teams on complex water and wastewater infrastructure assignments.
• Lead hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, utility plans, technical specifications, preliminary and final designs, bid assistance, and construction-phase design services.
• Oversee infrastructure condition assessment, rehabilitation, cost estimating, bypass pump systems, pipelines, and stormwater systems.
• Manage resources, budgets, schedules, deliverables, work delivery plans, and client engagement across multiple assignments.
• Review engineering designs, bid packages, RFPs, and Statements of Work for capital improvement programs.
• Coordinate consultants and contractors while supporting CIP planning, budgeting, scheduling, project delivery, data management, and technical advisory services.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering required; an M.S. degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience managing water and wastewater engineering design projects and teams.
• Experience developing and implementing design and construction contract documents for complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience with CIP planning, budgeting, scheduling, consultant and contractor coordination, and large water and wastewater programs.
• Experience with conveyance on a large, multi-million-dollar design and construction project.
• Professional Engineer license required, with reciprocity in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
