TL;DR
Solar Technician I (Solar PV and BESS): Maintaining and operating utility-scale solar PV sites, substations, and battery energy storage systems with an accent on electrical troubleshooting, high-, medium-, and low-voltage equipment, and plant safety. Focus on performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance, executing LOTO and equipment switching, and operating facilities in compliance with NERC standards.
Location: Onsite in Kuna, Idaho, United States; occasional travel to other sites, training travel, overtime, non-standard hours, and call-out work may be required.

What you will do
- Perform and assist with preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance for utility-scale and distribution-scale solar PV sites, substations, and battery energy storage systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, calibrate instrumentation, and perform basic inverter troubleshooting.
- Prepare and perform switching of high-, medium-, and low-voltage equipment and execute equipment clearances using established LOTO procedures.
- Operate PV solar and BESS plant systems in compliance with NERC standards and report to concerned entities as required.
- Prepare plant orders, operating procedures, work instructions, maintenance documentation, and technical records.
- Coordinate materials and services, collect and analyze operational data, and support process optimization.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience as a PV O&M solar technician or at least three years of power plant experience.
- Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical fundamentals, including electrical measurements, control circuits, and equipment operating principles.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, electrical single-line diagrams, and schematic drawings.
- Understanding of NEC codes and NFPA 70E practices, as well as applicable safety and environmental regulations.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English; Spanish and Portuguese are advantageous.

- Experience with utility-scale solar projects.
- Experience with SCADA and computerized maintenance management systems.
- Experience building, training, or leading field personnel.
