Customer Engineering Maintenance & Service Technician

Location: Residence-based role for candidates in the Bel Air, MD or Washington DC area, with daily travel to customer sites within approximately a 250-mile radius of Washington DC. Overnight stays, after-hours and weekend call-outs, and 24/7 availability are required as needed.

What you will do

• Install, repair, and maintain cryogenic liquid, industrial gas, and process gas supply systems at customer sites.
• Service pumping, high-pressure compression, gas generation, and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot de-energized electrical circuits up to 480V and measure voltage and amperage on instrumentation circuits.
• Work with piping systems, regulators, valves, relief devices, pumps, compressors, and 4–20 mA instrumentation loops.
• Occasionally supervise contractors and crane operations while coordinating with customers, management, sales, and engineering.
• Participate in after-hours and weekend call-outs, including travel outside the normal territory when business needs require it.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with hand and power tools, electrical multimeters, brazing torches, ladders, and general maintenance equipment.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, Safety Work Permits, and Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) requirements.
• Ability to interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and understand basic electrical loop diagrams.
• Ability to work independently outdoors year-round, perform physical maintenance tasks, and travel regularly.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, clean MVR, and availability for 24/7 on-call coverage are required.

Nice to have

• Technical degree in process technology, electrical technology, industrial systems, electromechanical technology, HVAC, plumbing, or a related field.
• Welding or brazing experience.
• Military or technical experience in aircraft maintenance, electrical systems, electronics, cryogenics, mechanical repair, crane and rigging, or general maintenance.
