Pharmacy Assistant (Pharmacy)

What you will do

• Prepare medication orders, including compounding and admixing under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
• Verify patient and physician information and calculate dosage volumes, including metric and apothecary conversions.
• Admix drugs according to department and OSHA guidelines.
• Maintain controlled drug counts, dispose of materials properly, and support inventory control.
• Record temperature logs and lot numbers, prepare labels, file records, and assist with billing and data entry.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–3 years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Precision and attention to detail when performing manual technical tasks.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Corrected vision and hearing required.
• Work involves exposure to patients, medicinal substances, and chemotherapeutic agents; certain tasks may be restricted to licensed individuals under state law.
