Installation and Maintenance Technician (Industrial Gases)

Location: Cardiff, United Kingdom; work across South Wales and UK&I customer and production sites

What you will do

• Provide maintenance services at customer engineering sites and operations production facilities.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on control and instrumentation systems.
• Install and commission systems for customer engineering projects, including sale-of-gas and sale-of-equipment contracts.
• Maintain process plant instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow, level, measurement, and gas detection systems.
• Work with shutdown systems, PLC-controlled systems, control and switching valves, and pneumatic control systems.
• Ensure safe site operation, legal compliance, timely inspections, SAP-based planning, and accurate documentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a customer-facing service, installation, or field role.
• COMPEX approval for work on field instrumentation in flammable atmospheres.
• Qualification to perform electrical inspection and testing on electrical systems.
• Working knowledge of PLC-controlled systems, fault finding, and remote integration.
• Experience in industrial gas or oil environments and with pressurised systems under PSSR 2000 legislation.
• Recognised instrument electrical apprenticeship, HNC or NVQ equivalent in Electrical Electronic Engineering, and a valid full driving licence.
