TL;DR
Electrical Engineer (Naval Defense): Designing and validating electrical subsystems for mission-critical naval handling equipment with an accent on requirements analysis, system integration, and verification testing. Location: FMD Handling Canada, 597 The Queensway, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada; onsite role

Salary: 90,000–130,000 CAD hourly pay type

hirify.global designs, develops, and supports naval power technology, reliable power systems, parts, and aftermarket services for the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, and Canadian Coast Guard.

What you will do

  • Translate high-level requirements and applicable standards into electrical design requirements.
  • Design and implement electrical subsystems, including software and hardware system component requirements.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to understand system component capabilities and develop effective electrical designs.
  • Develop and review electrical tests, analyze verification results, and prepare technical reports and documentation.
  • Manage testing at third-party test houses and support system-level testing at company facilities and in the field.
  • Support operations, supply chain, quality, and improvement projects by resolving product-related technical deficiencies.

Requirements

  • Recognized electrical engineering degree and Professional Engineers Ontario license as a P. Eng.
  • At least 5 years of work experience, preferably in electrical engineering.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada for more than 5 years.
  • Must be able to obtain NATO Secret-level security clearance through the Canadian Contract Security Program.
  • High-level English verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with industrial control systems, including PLC and HMI.
  • Experience with CAD software.
