Systems Designer (Industrial Automation)

Location: Burlington, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 90,000–105,000 per year, plus benefits, bonuses, and additional extra-hours payments.

What you will do

• Engineer and implement real-time automation controls and industrial information solutions.
• Conceptualize and design solutions throughout the project life cycle.
• Program, debug, test, and commission systems at client sites.
• Design and integrate PLC/PAC, HMI, SCADA, networking, database, vision, machine safety, servo motion, MES, and ERP connector solutions.
• Create engineering notes, proposals, traceability documentation, case studies, and other project materials.
• Develop methodologies, identify improvement opportunities, learn new technologies, and mentor colleagues.

Requirements

• Successful or upcoming completion of a degree in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering Technology.
• At least 10 years of experience with some or all of the listed automation and information technologies.
• Strong analytical, conscientious, focused, self-directed, and learning-oriented approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and full-time access to a personal vehicle.
• Willingness to travel 30–50% throughout North America.
