Director, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin, United States. The role regularly works in office and manufacturing environments and requires approximately 20% travel to Architectural Metals locations.

What you will do

• Develop and execute a multi-year EHS strategy aligned with business growth, operational excellence, and employee engagement.
• Standardize EHS processes, governance, metrics, reporting, and accountability across all Architectural Metals locations.
• Lead safety culture transformation, risk recognition, continuous improvement, and EHS accountability with operational leaders.
• Advise leadership on EHS risks, capital planning, facility expansions, equipment purchases, and business changes.
• Establish enterprise risk management, audit readiness, incident investigation, crisis response, and corrective-action frameworks.
• Lead regulatory strategy, permitting, environmental compliance, contractor EHS standards, and supply-chain integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; an MBA or graduate degree is preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading multi-site EHS programs and teams, developing enterprise strategies, and driving organizational change.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks including OSHA and EPA requirements.
• Expertise in enterprise risk management, incident investigation, contractor and supply-chain EHS management, and compliance systems.
• Executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership and operate in a matrixed organization.

• Experience with succession planning, capability development, leadership coaching, and organizational design.
• Ability to interpret and write instructions and procedures.
