Senior Director, Global Safety & Risk Programs

Location: Thousand Oaks, California, United States. Full-time, office-based role.

What you will do

• Define and execute the enterprise global safety and operational risk strategy.
• Lead the transformation, modernization, governance, and continuous improvement of global EHS programs.
• Integrate AI, predictive analytics, automation, dashboards, and digital technologies into safety and risk management.
• Provide governance for critical risk programs, including serious injury and fatality prevention, contractor safety, control of work, electrical and machine safety, confined space, lockout/tagout, working at heights, ergonomics, and powered industrial vehicles.
• Embed risk management into capital projects, engineering design, manufacturing operations, research and development, and business planning.
• Lead organizational change, executive engagement, talent development, audits, assessments, and management reviews.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree and 5 years of leading transformation safety and risk experience, or a master’s degree and 9 years, or a bachelor’s degree and 11 years.
• At least 5 years of direct people management or leadership experience across teams, projects, programs, or resource allocation.
• Experience leading enterprise transformation in biotechnology, pharmaceutical manufacturing, engineering, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with organizational transformation, digital modernization, enterprise risk management, operational excellence, and organizational resilience.
• Ability to influence executive leaders and lead change across complex matrix organizations.
• Strong strategic thinking, executive communication, stakeholder management, systems thinking, and business acumen.

• Experience leveraging AI, advanced analytics, and digital technologies to improve business performance.
• Experience benchmarking biotechnology, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, or other high-reliability organizations.
