Senior Electrical Engineer (Renewable Energy)

Location: Remote/traveling; valid independent U.S. work authorization required. The role does not offer H-1B visa or permanent residency sponsorship.

Salary: $100,561–$160,848 per year.

What you will do

• Develop electrical engineering solutions for utility-scale renewable energy projects during estimating or project execution.
• Lead electrical design development, Basis of Design documentation, engineering reviews, RFIs, and technical deliverables.
• Review one-line diagrams, protection and control systems, grounding plans, cable routing, equipment layouts, and third-party engineering packages.
• Support utility interconnections, equipment selection, procurement strategies, and technical submittal reviews.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, constructability reviews, value engineering, and technical risk assessments across concurrent projects.
• Collaborate with Owners, Engineers of Record, utilities, Estimating, Supply Chain, Construction, and Project Management, while mentoring junior engineers and CAD Designers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited college.
• EIT or FE certification, or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
• Four or more years of progressive electrical engineering experience supporting utility-scale power generation, renewable energy, industrial, EPC, or heavy infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing multiple engineering priorities and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
• Valid, independent U.S. work authorization; H-1B and permanent residency sponsorship are not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with utility-scale solar, wind, or battery energy storage projects.
• Knowledge of underground collection systems, substations, transmission interconnections, protection and control systems, SCADA, power quality, load flow analysis, and electrical equipment sizing.
• Experience in Estimating Engineering, Project Engineering, or both.
• Experience collaborating with Owners, Engineers of Record, utilities, EPC partners, and construction teams throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• Interest in solving complex engineering challenges, mentoring junior engineers, and improving engineering quality and project delivery.
