Mercury Marine: Industrial Design Intern

Location: Onsite in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, at Plant 12. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Relocation is available.

Salary: $18.00–$27.50 per hour

Mercury Marine, a hirify.global division, manufactures recreational marine propulsion engines, boats, electronics, parts, and related products.

What you will do

• Support Industrial Design projects across multiple stages of product development.
• Create 2D and 3D concepts that communicate design intent.
• Develop conceptual and production designs for physical hardware and product graphics.
• Create rapid visualizations using physical and digital tools, including color, materials, and finishes concepts.
• Collaborate with Industrial Design and Engineering teams on propulsion systems, controls, and graphics projects.
• Participate in weekly design critiques and support multiple active projects.

Requirements

• Enrollment in an accredited university bachelor's program in Industrial Design.
• At least second-semester sophomore standing with 48 completed credits.
• Availability to work full-time, 40 or more hours per week, from May through August 2027.
• Strong sketching, form development, surface interest, proportions, and product concepting skills.
• Experience with sketches, renderings, digital and physical model building, and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Current authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of KeyShot, Alias, or Vizcom modeling and rendering software.
• Experience observing and documenting competitive design trends.
• Graphic design experience with Illustrator, vector art, and typeface design.
