Salary: $117,600–$176,400 annually

What you will do

• Manage multiple water and wastewater projects and technical assignments while meeting contract, schedule, budget, and client requirements.
• Lead planning studies, preliminary and final designs, procurement and bid assistance, and design services during construction.
• Oversee projects involving pump stations, treatment plants, stormwater systems, and climate or flood resiliency systems.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients and manage client expectations.
• Lead business development pursuits, including opportunity positioning, proposal preparation, and relationship building.
• Mentor staff, plan workloads, support career development, and coordinate team assignments.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required; a master's degree is desirable.
• At least 8 years of experience in water and wastewater design, planning, construction management, and client business development.
• Experience with water or wastewater treatment, treatment plants, and climate or flood resiliency.
• Professional Engineer designation in Virginia or Maryland required.
• Experience managing project delivery, client expectations, technical teams, project finances, schedules, and budgets.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, technical writing, attention-to-detail, and client relationship management skills.

Nice to have

• Additional PE certification in other northeastern states.
• Experience in community engagement, climate action planning, diverse teams, and varied communication styles.
