Drainage Engineer (Stormwater/Hydraulic Analysis): Supporting drainage and stormwater design for transportation infrastructure projects across roadway, rail, bridge, and highway improvements with an accent on hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, culvert design, permitting, and regulatory coordination. Focus on preparing technical documentation, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering deliverables, and performing QA/QC for complex public-sector infrastructure projects.
Location: Hybrid; based in one of 's California offices in Los Angeles, Irvine, San Francisco, or Rancho Cucamonga, or in Portland, Oregon, or Bellevue, Washington
Salary: $114,345.69–$130,680.78 per year

What you will do
- Support drainage engineering design for roadway, rail, bridge, and highway improvement projects.
- Prepare stormwater management designs, drainage systems, culvert calculations, hydraulic structures, BMPs, LID features, and erosion and sediment control plans.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support design decisions, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare technical reports, drainage documentation, specifications, design materials, and engineer's cost estimates.
- Coordinate with roadway, structural, rail, and environmental disciplines, clients, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Participate in design reviews and QA/QC checks of calculations, reports, plans, and permit documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 6–12 years of experience in drainage design, preferably for transportation infrastructure projects.
- Professional Engineer license in Washington, Oregon, or California preferred, or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire.
- Working knowledge of hydrology and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, drainage systems, culvert design, erosion and sediment control, BMPs, and LID strategies.
- Experience with HEC-RAS, Hydrocalc, XPSWMM, StormCAD, WSPG, WNT-55, LAR04, or ORD Storm Module, plus MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with OpenRoads Designer or ArcGIS and strong written and verbal communication skills.
