Maintenance Tech (Manufacturing)

Location: Morrisville, North Carolina, United States; onsite, Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM

Starting pay: $32.31 per hour plus a $1.20 shift differential

What you will do

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on manufacturing, packaging, facilities, process, and utility equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including motors, pumps, compressors, boilers, chillers, conveyors, and water systems.
• Prioritize work orders, minimize equipment downtime, and use SAP to schedule, document, and escalate maintenance work.
• Install and replace machine parts, lubricate equipment, operate diagnostic and shop tools, and maintain safe, orderly work areas.
• Participate in root cause analysis, problem-solving, continuous improvement, and capital project activities.
• Coach and train operators and new maintenance team members on equipment setup, troubleshooting, adjustments, and operator-based maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with vocational or hands-on training, plus at least five years of general maintenance mechanic experience in manufacturing; alternatives include an associate degree in Mechanical/Utilities Technology or a Licensed Journeyman with at least two years of experience.
• Advanced understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics, with a basic understanding of electrical systems.
• Ability to operate hand, power, specialized, measurement, and diagnostic tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, computer, and reporting skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
• Ability to work indoors in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, moving equipment, heights above six feet, standing and walking for up to eight hours, and lifting or pushing up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience with packaging equipment.
• Welding and fabrication skills.
• Knowledge of SAP PM.
