Underwriter IV (Mortgage)

Location: Remote Texas

Compensation: $45.54 per hour for new hires in Nevada; salary is determined by specific job location.

What you will do

• Underwrite Government and Conventional residential mortgage loans across Delegated, Non-Delegated, and Retail channels.
• Review credit, capacity, collateral, appraisals, loan files, and underwriting conditions against company and investor standards.
• Manage an individual pipeline and complete underwriting, appraisal, and conditions reviews within defined turn times.
• Identify document deficiencies, add applicable conditions, and request additional information or documentation.
• Interpret underwriting guidelines, research overlays, and provide updates and clarification on loan conditions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of related mortgage industry or residential mortgage loan underwriting experience.
• High school diploma.
• Advanced knowledge of residential mortgage products, correspondent or retail lending, and regulatory and legal compliance requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Encompass.
• DE or SAR certification required.
