Pre-Approval Specialist (Mortgage Lending)

What you will do

• Communicate with borrowers about loan programs, costs, disclosures, and required documents.
• Review and audit income, assets, credit documentation, and mortgage files to support loan stability.
• Manage a pipeline of Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, 203k, Jumbo, and reverse mortgage loans.
• Pre-underwrite paystubs, credit reports, W-2s, bank statements, court orders, and other approval materials.
• Identify missing documentation and structure loans around borrowers’ financial circumstances.
• Input disclosure data, deliver disclosure packages, and set up loans for processing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–5 years of residential mortgage processing experience.
• Knowledge of RESPA guidelines and mortgage and consumer regulations.
• Knowledge of DU, LP, Microsoft Outlook, and Windows.
• Strong mathematics, analytical, communication, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Mortgage licensing is required for communicating loan programs and costs with borrowers.

Nice to have

• Experience with Encompass LOS.
• Prior underwriting or mortgage processing experience.
